Thorogood HR is an independent and expert HR Consultancy founded by Claire Thorogood. With her background and experience as an employment lawyer, as a director in two regulated law firms, extensive governance expertise in the education sector and her Masters in HR Management, she has a holistic understanding of the people issues within any organisation and offers her clients a unique set of skills and value.

Claire provides her clients - SMEs, law and professional services firms and schools – with expert, flexible and cost-effective independent HR expertise across key areas of responsibility. Each of these organisations operate within specific frameworks and contexts:

SMEs

Have faced prolonged organisational pressures including recession and pandemic repercussions that have led to increasingly complex staffing and management issues.

Law firms

Regulated by the SRA that has, over recent years, shown an unprecedented appetite to sanction solicitors and firms alike for breaches of the Codes of Conduct governing them.

Schools

DfE’s Teacher Standards govern teaching and conduct, within the profession and employees are, as a rule, members of Trade Unions.
